Playing dress up!

Today we decided to play dress-up and play with the camera. Mallory had fun with it. Of course in this picture she is being so silly and Maggie is being camera shy...

I really would like to get a better camera and a photoshop program to take photos around here of the kids. Just for fun, these photos didn't turn out too bad.

Miss Sassy had to have the full make -up at the end. She also had to wear the dress she wore in Whitney and Donald's wedding for her photo. She is such a ham!!

On another note Dillon will be starting baseball pretty soon. So I'm sure there will be many photos coming soon from the ballgames and practices. We are going to be very busy, I'm sure...

Whenever I figure out how to do a video, I'll post one here too. I'm sure you grandparents won't mind that a bit!!

A 'Diller Killin'

Tonight our guardian Eve just kept barking outside our house quite a bit. I went outside to hear something rustling the leaves, so I went inside to get a flashlight and Shane's 22. Now that was a sight, me trying to sneak up on whatever was lurking in the leaves undetected! I spotted an armadillo and couldn't wait to get him. Our yard is completely torn up because of those little devils. I held the flashlight (quite a large one I might add) and tried to put the scope on him...He was in my sights....pulled the trigger....and......CLICK...nothing. I took the gun inside and tried to tell Shane what I was doing. Long story short, we have bullets that are old and no good. I fired 2 out of 4 that were good. I managed to hit the devil and he ran into some heavy brush. (By then Shane had come out and held the flashlight for me) He decided to go look in the back yard where a lot of digging is going on as well and wouldn't you know, another one! I tried a shot at him and he got away I'm pretty sure. Armadillos and I go waaayy back. In high school I drove a gray 88 Nissan Sentra. If there was an armadillo within a 5 mile radius, he managed to get into my path and get run over. It never failed. I couldn't tell you how many of those things I ran over in that car. It became a joke to call my car the "Diller Killer". It so happened that my car was very similar to the color of an armadillo. Oh the memories!

What a wet and fun day!!

After a night of sleet/rain mix it finally snow this morning around 6:30. The kids were too excited to wait for Shane and I, so they dressed themselves and headed outside. Check out Mallory's outfit. Her nightgown is still on somewhere underneath the layers and the top shirt is on backwards. Boy was she proud of herself....

Mallory has just been hit by a snowball in the forehead by her loving brother. She didn't mind it though...

Uncle Jamie and Aunt Debbie played in the snow with us. That was really fun! I got tackled and held down for Dillon to put a snowball under my shirt. He absolutely enjoyed every minute of that!

Dillon showing his snowball throwing form....

Shane came back from doing chores to enjoy the time with us...He is throwing a snowball at me. He missed!

Nutmeg is growing....thanks to Mallory feeding him his bottle everyday. She has really enjoyed taking care of him. Dillon gets to play with him in the afternoons when he gets home from school. I am really glad that we have him for the kids. They bring him out of the pasture and all three of the "kids" play together. I don't think Nutmeg realizes he is not a human child. He even rides on the mule, up front of course, when we are doing chores. He is really a great addition for the kids...

Lawrence Welk in our House!

Yes, it's true....While I should've been on the treadmill tonight,(because I didn't get to it this morning) Dillon, Mallory and I were watching The Lawrence Welk show. Don't laugh at me, I absolutely love to watch this show! I have known no other person that shared that interest with me, until now. When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time at my grandparent's home in Leaf, MS. Every weekend, we would all sit in the living room and watch Lawrence Welk with them. Sometimes I really didn't like it, but my grandparents loved reminiscing about the good ole' days. I guess that's why I like it, it takes me back to the good times at my granparents house. What wonderful memories I have being with them. Dillon and Mallory enjoyed it tonight as much as I did. I went to turn the tv off and Dillon told me to wait, he wanted to watch the rest of that "good" show, so I obliged and sat down with them to enjoy!!

To work or not to work....

I have been getting a little antsy about returning to work lately. I really enjoyed being a nurse so much, and I have spent the last four years taking care of the kids trying to make sure they get a good foundation. I noticed that the local clinic next to Dillon's school was in need of a nurse....so I got EXCITED!!!! Then the reality set in that I would have to leave the responsibility up to someone else to get the kids after school and help them with homework and snacks until I get home. The possibility of Dillon not making it to some of his baseball due to my work schedule...The list just keeps piling up of all of the CONS. I just think it's way more important for the kids to have me at home. Not that I don't want to get back into the medical world, but I guess it will have to wait. God blessed Shane and I with two beautiful children and it is our responsibility to raise them with good values and give them all the love and security they need. So as of now, I guess it is no working for me. HA!! I may not go to work outside of the home, but this farm and my family keeps me jumping anyway.
