Let the games begin!!!

Baseball season is underway and boy are we busy! They had Opening Day Saturday which was nice for the kids. They have a ceremony to kick the day off and all of the players get to run in and have their names announced. Their team photos are made that day as well as their first game. We won our first game on Saturday. We also won our game tonight. I am amazed at how well these young boys and girls play baseball. Some of them are like little pros out there. Dillon is really enjoying himself and he really likes his coaches this year. We hope to have a good season.... Here are some baseball photos

We had to go get Dillon a longer bat this year, so he had to show off his new bat to the team...It was so funny to see all of them checking it out and comparing lengths and weights of their bats like they really understood it all. Then again, maybe they do. These kids are so into baseball like adults. Way different than when I was growing up.

Facing fears

Dillon has had a fear of horses since he was around 2 1/2 years old. He got trampled by a miniature horse and has never forgotten it. Now that Mallory has Sally the horse, he has slowly showed interest in her. Shane has helped Dillon build confidence enough to sit on Sally's back while he leads her around. Dillon has really come a long way, and I am so proud of him facing his fears....

I love this picture...Although he is nervous he still gives it a try.

My two cowpokes with baby "Sally" (one of the many Sally's around here thanks to Mallory!

Good company and good food....

A few weeks ago we were invited to have lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Shows at Sweet Magnolias in Richton. We enjoyed a good ole southern style home cookin meal and good company. Mr. Shows also gave Mallory a brush that she can start brushing her horse Sally with. Thank you to the Shows' for lunch and a good visit that day!

Tonight we were invited to eat supper with our neighbors Gary and Joan Newman. We went to Wiggins to find some seafood for Mrs. Joan and we ended up at a wonderful place called Wentzell's, I think. It was such a wonderful atmosphere there. The food was delicious. I am so glad that we have such kind neighbors. It's nice to know they are right across the pasture. Thank you to Mrs. Joan and Mr. Newman for everything!

Speaking of Wiggins, that has to be the best little town. The folks there are so kind. It is a true embodiment of "Southern Hospitality." I try to do my grocery shopping there, instead of driving to Hattiesburg. There are more things to choose from in Hattiesburg, but you just can't beat that down to earth atmosphere in Wiggins, MS!
